Join Dixie to Help Military Families

A decade ago an Air National Guard fighter pilot from Oklahoma vowed to change the future for the spouses and children of service members killed or disabled while serving their country.

Major Dan Rooney took action and founded the organization Folds of Honor. The goal is to provide scholarships to those family members. The numbers are impressive:

  • 12,500 Scholarships awarded since 2007
  • Total value exceeds $55,000,000
  • 298 Recipients from Alabama

Military life is part of the fabric of our community. The Maxwell-Gunter Air Force Base in Montgomery can trace its roots to the Wright Brothers Flying School built on the same site in 1910. Today, it employs more than 12,000 military and civilian personnel.
It’s just one more reason why Dixie Electric, Plumbing & Air wants your help to support Folds of Honor. From now until the end of July, Dixie will donate a portion of all proceeds to this great organization. We can’t think of a better way to make an impact this July in honor of Independence Day.
Call to schedule your air conditioner tune-up. It’s the best way to make sure your unit is running at peak efficiency and your home stays cool this summer.
It’s always a good time to bring in Dixie’s professional electricians for a Safe and Sound safety inspection. Using high-tech testing tools, we can locate and fix problems before they cause dangerous fires.
It’s the same for your plumbing. Our plumbers can prevent damaging leaks by spotting damaged pipes, connections and fixtures.
You know you need a new air conditioner, but have been putting off the inevitable. Why not do it now and benefit the Folds of Honor organization at the same time?
Through the program, qualifying family members can apply for scholarships to help pay for tuition, books, and on-campus room and board. The amount of the scholarship, up to $5,000, is based on financial need which is determined during the application process.
There are higher education scholarships to help students in college and children’s scholarships to help those in K-12 schools. The money can be used for private school tuition, approved tutoring programs, and home schooling.
The group’s motto is, “Honor their sacrifice. Educate their legacy.” Help us help Folds of Honor. Call Dixie Electric, Plumbing & Air right now and schedule your appointment to make sure the work is done before the end of July. If you do your part, Dixie will do its part to keep this amazing program going.
