We are located in a city with great historical significance. In the tumultuous days leading up to the Civil War, Montgomery, AL is where the Confederate States of America was founded and served as the first capital of the confederacy.
A century later, the city played a key role in the civil rights movement including the Montgomery bus boycott. No visit to the city is complete without a stop at the Civil Rights Memorial and adjacent exhibition center.

Dixie is also proud of serving the home comfort needs of many military members. There is a large military presence in the region including nearby Maxwell Air Force Base. It is home to more than 3,000 active duty personnel and another 1,300 reserve members.

Montgomery, AL has been nationally recognized for its efforts in downtown revitalization, especially on Court Square and riverfront of the Alabama River. It now includes Riverfront Stadium, home to the Class AA Montgomery Biscuits professional baseball team, a member of the Southern League.

The city also has several cultural attractions. It is home to the Alabama Shakespeare Festival. It is the largest professional theater in the state and is one of the world’s largest Shakespeare festivals. Performances take place in a stunning performing arts center built in 1985.
