Ductless Mini Splits Are Clean, Comfortable & Convenient

ductless mini split
One of the most common complaints we hear at Dixie Electric, Plumbing & Air is about uneven heating or cooling, a room or area that’s either too cold or too hot.
If that’s the case in your home then you need to call and talk to us about one of the best solutions, ductless mini split heat pumps. They can add cooling or heating to a particular location in your home without having to add any ductwork.
There can be as many as four indoor air handlers connected to one outdoor condenser. Each one of those indoor units can be set to a different temperature (also known as “zoning”) allowing great flexibility depending on personal preference.
One big advantage of these mini-split systems is the ease of installation. Because there’s no ductwork, all that’s required is a 3-inch hole to connect the air handler to the outside condenser. In addition, the outdoor unit can be located up to 50-feet away, meaning you can hide it behind shrubs or behind the house.
Did you know a typical central HVAC system can lose as much as 30% of its heating and cooling capacity as the air moves through the ducts, before it even gets into the living areas of your home? A ductless system eliminates that. All of the heated or cooled air is delivered directly to the room or rooms where needed.
No matter what type of project you’re considering, there is a mini split system that can make it easier. If you’re building a new home with radiant heat, it’s a great companion for cooling because you don’t need to add expensive ductwork.
If you’re turning a garage, attic, or basement into a living space, it’s a fantastic way to heat AND cool those areas that may not be connected to your current central system.
